Saturday 15th June 2-4pm

We will be opening the Friends Chapel on Saturday 15th June to celebrate National Cemeteries week, and also to give you another chance to see our display of D-Day casualties connected with the cemetery.

Come along between 2 and 4pm to look at the display and to explore our lovely cemetery.

We will, as usual, be serving tea/coffee and cake!!

Saturday 24th August
Moth Identification Morning

Dr Ian Beavis will identify the moths that have been collected overnight in the moth trap

All are welcome to this event. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Heritage Open Days 7th & 8th September

The national theme this year is Routes - Networks - Connections. We have found some interesting international connections which we are currently researching. For example, who was the wonderfully named Lemuel Bangs? Why is a New Zealand mayor buried in the cemetery?

23rd October Fungus Walk

 

Our popular annual fungus walk will take place on Wednesday 23rd October at 10am.

Booking will be required for this event. Watch this space for more details nearer the time.

Blessing of Catholic Graves (date tbc)

Everyone is welcome to attend the annual blessing of Catholic graves, which takes place on the Sunday closest to All Souls’ Day. Meet for prayers in the Catholic section of the cemetery near the Bayham Road entrance. Graves in other parts of the cemetery can be blessed on request. The Friends Chapel will be open afterwards for hot drinks and cake.

10th November. Remembrance Sunday

This annual event will see wreaths laid at the four War Memorials in the cemetery. These are the First and Second World War Crosses of Sacrifice, the Civilian War Memorial and the RAF Memorial.  Everyone is invited to attend this Civic Event.

The Friends Chapel will be open after the event for refreshments

7th December at 3pm Advent Concert

Join us for another afternoon of advent carols and seasonal refreshments.

Fungi Walk

Our annual and very popular fungi walk will take place today led by Martin Allison. Places will be limited. Further details on how to book nearer the time.
